Upgrading PremiSys Software
Instructions for Upgrading PremiSys Software
To check your version, open PremiSys and click "Help" and "About."
Before upgrading your software we strongly recommend making a backup of the software.
Performing a backup in PremiSys
1. Open the PremiSys software.
2. Click on Tools in the menu bar.
3. Click on Backup/Restore - (The backup utility window opens up.)
4. Make sure the Backup radio button is selected under operation. Make sure both Backup Photos and Signatures box and Backup Transactions box are checked.
5. Click Browse - (The Specify Backup Filename window opens up) Browse to the file location where you would like to save the backup.
6. Enter a name for the backup in the File name field, and click save.
7. Click Backup - You will see the green progress bar as the backup is being created.
8. The “Backup Complete” window opens up asking if you would like to save the log file. Click no. You do not need to save the log file.
9. Click the X in the upper right-hand to close the Backup Utility window. The backup process is now complete.

Performing an Upgrade of the PremiSys™ Server software
Please note: You will run the upgrade on the PremiSys™ server computer. You must be logged in with a Windows Administrator account.
1. Extract / Unzip the software.
Right-click on the software package and select “Extract All.”
2.Click “Browse” and browse to the file location where you would like to extract the software.
2.Open the extracted folder when complete. Right-Click the setup.exe and select “Run as administrator.”
Please Note: You will need to be logged on as a Windows Administrator in order to run this setup package.
3. The setup wizard will start. You should see Upgrade Mode in the title bar. Click Next.
4. The End-User License Agreement - Click “I accept” in the checkbox and select next.
5. You will select the Server option and select next.
6. If the “Ready to upgrade PremiSys™” window opens, continue to step 8.
If a window opens asking for Database Credentials continue to step 7.
7. If the “Database Creation Credentials” window opens, you do not have default credentials on your SQL server for the IDenticard instance of SQL, or you are pointing to the wrong SQL server. Note the highlighted database instance in the image below. If this is showing the wrong database, contact technical support and do not continue.
You must use a SQL System Administrator(sa) account or equivalent. If creating an sa equivalent account, it must have the correct mappings, or the upgrade will fail. Master, model, msdb, and tempdb must all be mapped as db_Owner and Public for the upgrade to succeed. Do not use windows authentication or an account that does not have SA access.
Enter the SA login and password into the “Database Creation Credentials” window. Click the Test Connection Button and you will see a green checkbox appear. SQL server has accepted the credentials. Click next and continue to Step 8.
8. Ready to upgrade PremiSys window. Click Next to start the upgrade of the PremiSys™ software.
9. You will see the installation window with a green progress bar. This step may take a few minutes to complete.
10. Complete the PremiSys™ Setup Wizard - Click Finish. The upgrade is completed. Please login and click help and about to confirm the version.
Performing an Upgrade of the PremiSys Client Software
Please note: You must be logged in with a Windows Administrator account in order to install software.
Workstations where the PremiSys™ Client(s) are installed you, are going to run a client only upgrade.
1. Extract / Unzip the software.
Right-click on the software package and select Extract All…
2.Browse to the file location where you would like to extract the software.
3.Open the extracted folder when complete. Right-Click the setup.exe and select Run as administrator.

4. The setup wizard will start. You should see Upgrade Mode in the title bar. Click Next.
5. The End-User License Agreement - Click I accept in the checkbox and select next.
6. Client Option Selection - Check the box for Client - Workstation Only and click next.
7. Ready to upgrade PremiSys™ window. Click Upgrade to begin the client software upgrade.
8. The upgrade will begin, you will see the installation window with a green progress bar. This step may take a few moments to complete.
Complete the PremiSys™ Setup Wizard - Click Finish. The upgrade is completed. Please login and click help and about to confirm the version.
