PremiSys Elevator Overview - Example
An elevator reader is mounted inside an elevator car, for the purpose of enabling floor access to cards. Floor access, like door access, is configured within the Access Groups to specify the elevator, floor, and time zone the cardholder is authorized to access the floor(s). Configure this reader as part of an Elevator, rather than a Door. An available output is needed for each card-access restricted floor. These floor outputs must be in sequence. If you don’t have enough outputs on the board, indicate the “next I/O” in the software – and use those outputs in sequence.
Your first relay in the floor button sequence can be any relay on an SIO board on the same controller as the elevator reader. However, the remaining floor button relays must be consecutive. If the number of floors you need exceeds available relays on that SIO board, select another SIO board for your additional floors, being sure you start with the first relay and use consecutive relays for the remaining floors. You can custom rename the floors, this helps if you have a basement floors or underground parking.
You will be working with the elevator vendor, they should provide the connections you will need for the relays and inputs if using them.
Elevator Hardware Example - If I wanted to add 2 elevators and each had 5 floors. I will need, two access control readers, and 10 relays total ( the relays will be split up into two groups of 5 relays in consecutive order.)
Hardware needed:
- Two-Reader Controller - LP 1502 - This gives me the 2 reader ports I need.
- 16 Output Board - This will give me 16 relays - I only need 10 relays for this example.
- Two Access control Readers
