Elevator Frequently Asked Questions - Pre Install Questions

Elevator Frequently Asked Questions

1. How many floors are supported? Supports up to 128 floors.

2. What types of elevator configurations does PremiSys software offer? PremiSys offers 2 types of elevator controls.

1st Type: Elevator control without floor select feedback (just using outputs connected to the elevator system).

2nd Type: Elevator control with floor select feedback (uses both outputs and inputs connected to the elevator system).

3. Can you name elevator floors? Yes, Elevator floors can be named in elevator control section.

4. Can I make elevator floor groups? Yes, Elevator floor groups can be created in elvator control section.

When adding elevators into PremiSys, things to take into consideration.

1. How many elevators are needed? This will give you an overview of what you need in terms of hardware. How many readers, and what panels will be used.

2. How many floors are in each elevator? This will determine how many relays are needed. Will you need an output board? What relay you are going to start with?

3. Elevator Configuration Method? Will all floors unlock? Do you need floor-by-floor access? Do you need floor-by-floor access with feedback?- This will determine the security method of the elevator and if you will need inputs for feedback.

  • Elevator control without floor select feedback (just using outputs connected to the elevator system). This is the most common configuration.
  • Elevator control with floor select feedback (uses both outputs and inputs connected to the elevator system).

4. Will there be Non-Cardholder Access? Does the building require floors to be open to the public

Once you answer these questions you can start planning your hardware configuration and determine what hardware you will need for the elevator setup. What access control panels will you need to cover the relays and inputs? How many card readers will be needed?

It is suggested for the easiest setup configure the elevator relays on an output board. This is not required as you can link your I/O boards for consecutive relays.

When setting up elevators the relays must be in consecutive order.
